Reliability Manager - Maintenance / Asset Management - Midlands Based

We are looking for a Reliability Manager with a strong background in Maintenance Engineering to lead all reliability engineering activities for a Midlands based organisation who melt and refine ingot and slab and manufacture mill products for the Aerospace, Automotive and Energy sectors.

As the Reliability Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient asset management and lead all reliability engineering and maintenance activities within the business. You shall work closely with the Maintenance Engineering Manager to ensure optimum output is achieved across the plants.

The Reliability Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive the annual implementation plan for Reliability Excellence Roadmap
  • Implement and effectively establish key engineering processes in line with reliability roadmap requirements
  • Develop a 'bad actor' analysis culture utilising site operational measures and use this to develop line performance improvement plans
  • Drive implementation of the Inventory Management Plan
  • Developing standard maintenance setup routines for critical equipment
  • Drive and support Reliability Centered Maintenance/FMECA activities
  • Drive utilisation of Root Cause Analysis techniques
  • Monitor and measure team performance by quantifying data and feedback on task effectiveness; deviations from plan; maintenance standards; procedures
  • Support local engineering team to drive improvements on asset availability as part of the OEE metric
  • Be the CBM specialist and drive the use of Predictive and Prescriptive techniques
  • RCA/5 Why analysis/problem solving techniques
  • Support the site and departmental 6s program
  • Develop maintenance improvement techniques


Skills required:

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline
  • Excellent planning and co-ordination skills
  • Proficient in SAP
  • RCM and/or other maintenance/reliability qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of reliability and maintenance systems working in a heavy engineering environment
  • Proven experience of using SAP PM maintenance planning system (or other CMMS)
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance Schedules, time and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM)
  • Experience in condition-based maintenance techniques - vibration analysis, thermography
  • Knowledge of lubrication methodology and schedules
  • Working knowledge of T&A, STAR and Share-point
