Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a key player in the UK's fight to net zero emissions by 2050 as they seek to add a Regional Finance Manager to their team.

The business in question is backed by a group of established international investment firms and has an incredibly skilled & diverse workforce based out of their HQ in Coventry.

Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive Management Accounting and Business Insight to Senior Leadership within the COO function
  • Take responsibility for the month end accounts closure process, ensuring completeness, consistency and accuracy of all data and that accounting entries are appropriately classified in accordance with internal policy
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance - COO where necessary in providing support to the Chief Operating Officer and the wider COO leadership team
  • Lead the compilation and review of financial performance reports and the monthly management accounts, project reporting and RRP reports, ensuring the reporting is relevant, timely and accurate
  • Provide insightful commentaries which adequately explain any variances in the data
  • Provide financial analysis to support the network to build robust business plans, budgets and forecast and apply robust financial risk management by identifying, leading and coordinating the quantification of risks and opportunities
  • Identify and drive the implementation of improvements to financial processes within the Network Finance Team and utilise best practice methodologies, drawing on external sources and internal references, in order to drive increased value across the all networks and the wider COO function
  • Support the Head of Finance - COO in engaging with the wider business to establish, maintain and monitor the financial control framework, ensuring adherence to key control
  • Lead and manage a highly motivated, innovative and customer-focused finance team, developing talent and a performance management culture that drives value through staff engagement and successfully meets/exceeds all relevant targets and strategic objectives within the business unit
  • Support the delivery of change across Finance and the business, role-modelling new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long term business capability
  • Proactively build own knowledge of pricing and its impact on the industry and the business in order to support key decisions and advise and guide own business area
  • Deal with the most complex ad-hoc requests, escalated issues and non-standard analysis in order to contribute to the delivery of business unit objectives

Key skills & qualifications:

  • (ACA/ACCA/ACMA) Qualified
  • Strong systems skills with experience of driving process efficiency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to influence and explain financial issues and results to senior Leaders
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills in order to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, management and other key stakeholders
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen combined with significant post-qualification experience in financial management
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior business leaders
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and sound judgement
  • Experience of working with senior management across the business including technical and commercial professional staff and specialists
  • Skilled at stakeholder / customer relationship excellence
  • Advanced at reporting Financial information
  • Advanced at planning, forecasting and budgeting
  • Experienced at developing and working with MS Excel
  • Experienced at financial and investment appraisal
  • Skilled at financial Systems (SAP/BPC)
  • Skilled at challenging the norm, and proposing brave options
