Our client is a national law firm with an exceptional reputation for delivering high-quality legal services. They are seeking a Real Estate Lawyer with NQ to 5 years PQE to join their housebuilding and strategic land development team. This team is one of the largest at the firm and acts for most of the top-10 house builders, local and national developers, housing associations, landowners (from individuals to major Plc regeneration companies), local authorities, investors and promoters in the residential development and strategic land sectors.
The successful candidate will be based out of the Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham or Derby office (with flexible working available). For NQs and others at the more junior end of the scale, the expectation is that the majority of their time would be spent in the Nottingham office, in order to assist their development.
Responsibilities:
* To professionally manage a caseload of client matters in accordance with the firm's standards
* To effectively undertake fee earning work reliably and in line with the firm's risk and compliance procedures.
* To work to a consistently high level and to provide an exemplary level of client service and care.
* To contribute actively toward business development opportunities to ensure the retention of existing clients and expansion of business.
* To ensure at all times that you maintain up to date technical expertise.
* To be accountable for your own personal development and to continuously develop interpersonal and soft skills.
* To be competent at all times in accordance with the SRA competence standards.
* To carry out any other such reasonable tasks that may be required from time to time.
Skills and Qualifications:
* NQ to 5 years PQE Real Estate Lawyer. * Experience of residential development and/or strategic land, such as acting for house builders, promoters, developers, land owners, housing associations and/or local authorities.
* Competent with acquisitions and disposals, conditional and unconditional contracts.
* Some experience of golden-brick and other affordable housing transactions, back-to-back sales, deeds of easement, infrastructure agreements, and service charge/management agreements.
* Possibly some experience of more complex transactions including site-assembly, strategic land, overages, mixed-use schemes, institutional investment, portfolio charging and portfolio acquisitions.
* Ambitious, client-focused and highly competent.
