This long standing and highly regarded Defence engineering and manufacturing business based in the North West of England has an enviable reputation for both product quality and customer satisfaction across a wide variety of highly engineered components and systems for a variety of global Military and Defence customers.
With an enviable list of global customers and a varied product offering, the site Quality Manager will be responsible to lead the Quality function including; Lab Test, Inspection, Supplier, Customer, Product and Process Quality Engineering across this two site operation. The key deliverables around the role will be;
Ensure compliance with all relevant applicable Quality standards.
Create, manage and develop a structure that captures, records, analyses and acts upon data to drive problem resolution for all areas of Manufacturing.
Develop and report relevant quality KPI's to demonstrate Quality performance of the business.
Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with the Company Quality Policies, systems and procedures. Liaise and coordinate with all external certification bodies ensuring the retention of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 accreditations.
Communicate the Company Quality Policy, procedures and performance.
Responsible for the control and disposition of non-conforming items and Corrective Actions.
Responsible for certifying conformance of company products on release to the customer.]
Compliance at all times with the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety Policy.
The Quality Manager will have proven experience within a highly regulated manufacturing engineering environment such as; Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear or Oil & Gas and will have extensive experience within a low to medium volume high value manufacturing engineering environment. The ideal QM will have a mix of the following skills and experience;
Quality Management System (QMS) Implementation
Laboratory Quality Management System (LQMS) implementation
Manufacturing Engineering experience, ideally within a Defence / Military / MOD based environment.
Management of Quality Control personnel
Management of Quality Assurance personnel
The Quality Manager is the appointed management representative for Government Quality Assurance (GQA) issues and has the authority and freedom to resolve matters pertaining to Quality. The Quality Manager has the responsibility and authority to establish, implement and maintain QMS processes including liaison with the Government Quality Assurance Representative (GQAR) and/or Acquirer on matters related to Quality.
