Scope and Responsibilities
Lead Special Process Engineering and Technical contract review group within our company.
Specification review and incorporation of requirements into methods of manufacture.
Participate in the evolution of the our Business Management Systems to meet current and future aerospace standards.
Promote improvements to existing BMS, processes and Facilities to continuously improve services to our customer base
Participate and progress personal and team objectives to aid continuous improvement throughout the business
Manage all aspects of Quality audit activity
Maintain and analyse internal audit records, facilitate timely closure of internal audit findings
Use internal audit plan to strengthen processes and drive improved compliance
Provide accurate feedback to all areas of the business of internal/external audit findings
Interface with external audit agents for review of management system
Support purchasing team through audit of supplier and service provider performance
Manage quality record retention across all areas of the business
Manage the review and issue of specifications
Develop skill competencies for special process and other members of QA team.
Maintain and monitor approved supplier and external service provider approvals
Quality Assurance Accountabilities
Departmental responsibility for
Compliance with EHS and legislative standards
Compliance with PPE and all other safety policies and requirements
Compliance with all occupational health appointments and requirements
Promote safe working practices
Participate in risk assessment and "near miss" risk mitigation activities
Maintenance and improvement of BMS
Manage internal/external quality audit activity
Manage Quality record archive
Manage quality related operator approval and issue of associated stamps
Analyse quality audit data to highlight operator or process improvements.
Control method of manufacture status to maintain compliance with customer quality requirements
Manage department to ensure flow down quality and technical information provided by customer into part specific methods of manufacture
Incorporate current Quality Instruction ,SOP, care point data into methods to enhance process capability
Work in conjunction with all departments to identify and incorporate process improvement into existing methods.
With reference to our intranet ensure specification updates are incorporated into existing methods of manufacture at point of review.
Support procurement and planning departments to minimise back log and delays in issue of material to shop floor
Actively manage Engineering change request - to minimise delays in production
Liaise with special process , Laboratory and conformance to deliver cost effective methods of manufacture
Liaise with Finance and Business development teams to ensure up to date costing standards are built into the business management system
Work with purchasing to endeavour that the most cost effective, customer approved raw material sources are sought.
Where prior customer approval is required provide first point of contact for change with customer
Analyse quality audit data to highlight opportunities for cost reduction.
Develop Special Process Engineers and operators across all disciplines. Promote proactive team work within the QA team
Maintain high standards of written and verbal communications between internal and external customers
Work in compliance with all HR policies and procedures
