This is a rare opportunity to join a FTSE listed Property Investment client with more than £1bn in property assets seek a Data / Financial Analyst

Fixed Term (14 months fixed term maternity) - Property Analyst (12 - 14 month FTC)

Location: West London (2-3 days working from home each week)

Job Role

This 12 month fixed term contract role has arisen as a result of a maternity cover requirement and provides an exciting opportunity to support the Property team, the FP&A and Investor Relations teams within the Finance function, and the Steering Group for the roll-out and implementation of Power BI in the business. This is a highly visible and commercially focused analyst role focused on driving business performance and insight.

The purpose of the Analyst is to support the team in providing insight and analysis to the business and delivery of the company strategy and growth programme through the production and analysis of operational management information.

Main Responsibilities

  • Preparation of the Asset Management report for the Executives and Senior Management teams - comprehensive Quarterly pack and slightly abbreviated Monthly packs
  • Proactively coordinate the collection of all data and narrative inputs required for the Asset Management report, from multiple data sources, individuals across the Property Team and third party advisors
  • Perform the detailed analysis and interrogation of extensive data-sets to calculate and explain the required metrics
  • Refine the presentation, including charts, graphs and narrative through Excel and PowerPoint and present to the Director of Portfolio Analysis and Head of Asset Management for sign-off
  • Key role at the heart of the Business Intelligence project, "Data Freedom", to support the Director of Property Analysis in the roll-out and implementation of Power BI through:
  • Becoming a super-user of the tool
  • Playing an integral role in overseeing the parallel running of the tool alongside existing, Excel-based processes for the production and interrogation of all Operational Metrics and Tenancy schedule-driven data
  • Following roll-out, drive reporting tools and insight through the Business Intelligence project by enhancing and developing reports and dashboards, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring core data is robust and accurate
  • Support the Group FP&A Manager in providing all operational metrics, operating lease notes and supporting workbooks as required for each quarterly trading update, half and full year Financial Statements and ad hoc RNS releases to the markets
  • Oversee bi-annual MSCI reporting - providing all required data to the third party and verifying reports received
  • Support the Asset Managers and Finance in preparing asset performance information packs for a key Joint Venture partner and our Third Party Asset Management mandates
  • Support the Head of Asset Management and Group FP&A Manager in analysis and tracking of Retail Rental billings, negotiations and collection on a weekly and quarterly basis

Person Specification

  • A real team player who is diligent, enthusiastic and has a strong work ethic and passion to succeed
  • A self-starter, able to work autonomously and with appropriate levels of supervision
  • Ability to read beyond the numbers with authority and clarity, to engage and liaise with key stakeholders across the Property Team, including senior management
  • Commercially astute, highly numerate and able to work with large, at times incomplete data sets, and produce concise, accurate analysis in a timely fashion
  • Deadline orientated and able to prioritise competing workloads to ensure that all key deliverables are completed on time to the highest of standards
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced team
  • Experience of commercial property required with a retail focus desirable
  • Solution focussed with the ability to challenge processes and identify improvements to build robust efficient processes / enhance existing ways of working
  • Questioning mindset and desire to identify and make improvements
  • Professional, flexible and reliable

Key Skills & Experience

  • Property / Real Estate industry experience essential,
  • Experience of Power BI an advantage

Ideally you will be available to start this role in early-mid September and be happy to commit to the 12-14 month contract. You will be able to make your own mark on this role and be confident in dealing with senior stakeholders.
