Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an Project Manager to join an exciting retailer who have seen a rapid amount of growth over the last 12 months. This role will be suitable for a technically focused PM working out of their head office in Herefordshire.
Overview of role
Responsible for managing projects, predominately from the IT portfolio, including technical/infrastructure and development based, using our in-house project management framework. Ensuring projects are appropriately planned, organised, led and reported; adhering to PMO standardised procedures, whilst meeting objectives on time and on budget.
Essential
- Significant experience in managing infrastructure projects with the ability to take part in technical discussions and translate into project plans and stakeholder reporting
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and practices, as well as expert knowledge of Agile and traditional project management principles and practices and when best to apply them
- Strong and diverse experience of delivering multi-discipline business and technology projects using Agile methodologies
- Experience of leading multi-function project teams including business and technology SME's. Strong leadership, facilitation and coaching skills
- Proven working knowledge of Agile practices, values and principles
- Experience of change management principles, methodologies and tools with a solid understanding of how people go through change and the change curve
- Good level of technical understanding to provide credible leadership to the development community and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issues
- The ability to command respect and be considered credible by the project teams and the project stakeholders
Background
- 10+ years as a project and/or programme manager running large, complex projects in a variety of environments and using various waterfall and Agile methodologies
- 5+ years working within a PMO i.e. used to providing a standardised stakeholder experience
- 5+ years leading technical/infrastructure projects or as a technical resource on projects of this nature
Desirable experience
- Experience of delivering business transformation/legacy system replacement and infrastructure projects
- Experience of Agile project management tools such as Jira
- Actively involved in thought leadership and communities, looking for ways to improve and evolve current practice
- eCommerce, retail or logistics experience
- Certified Agile Project Manager, Scrum Master or similar qualification
- Experience of managing PCI the attestation process
