Are you able to coach, mentor and support a range of clients across a diverse manufacturing sector base including; Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Renewable and Industrial Manufacturing? Are you able to operate as a Business Improvement Coach within the Purchasing and Supply Chain specialism and be part of a multi-functional team to deliver tangible and real world improvements to your clients?
Established in 2013, this leading UK manufacturing and engineering consultancy business has grown to almost 100 people through its successful delivery of Business Improvement and Transformation projects across the UK manufacturing and engineering client base and now is in a state of growth once again due to ever increasing workload and new clients joining their projects.
Made up of many different specialist streams including engineering, commercial and supply chain functions, they now require the support of an additional Business Coach within their busy Procurement and Supply Chain Team.

You will have the opportunity to transfer your knowledge whilst gaining from the experiences of others and having exposure to a wide variety of clients across the UK.
In the role of a Procurement Coach you will utilise your skills and knowledge to provide Insight and Intervention in the supply chain & procurement functions on client sites. You will be working alongside clients developing their knowledge and capability as you support them in delivering a tangible impact to their businesses, whilst ensuring alignment to the company strategy to ultimately achieve their growth ambitions. Your ability to coach individuals and teams in the development of effective processes, policy development, governance, problem solving and compliance through visual management will be key. The role will include the following;
Determine current effectiveness of the supply chain function, assessing current sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, supplier performance, organisation structure and roles & responsibilities
Fully assess the robustness of the suppliers internal processes and procedures to determine and identify process improvements using a detailed diagnostic / technical assessment
Assessing & developing "Make vs Buy" processes within beneficiary
Understanding the effectiveness of cost management including development of supplier and commodity strategies where necessary
Coaching and mentoring beneficiary Senior Management Teams in your field(s) of expertise and focus
Establishing lead Key Performance Indicators with appropriate governance deliver and demonstrate clear tangible benefit of improvements in relation to Procurement based activities
Provide expertise and support around 'Export Control' through the coordination of 3rd party trainers where necessary
Link Supply Chain to other critical aspects of the organisation including business plan development and Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP)
The role will be varied and diverse and will manage a portfolio of 5-10 clients at any one time and so will require strong organisational skills as well as the ability to coach and mentor rather than do or tell. The ideal skills and background will include;

While being home based, this role requires travel to the beneficiary site and the head office from time to time, all candidates must be willing and happy to work across the breadth of the UK and could be away from home for several nights during the working week, so flexibility to travel and stay away where required is essential.
