We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Partner to join the Private Client Services Team of a leading UK law firm. The team consists of 50 members who are specialists in trusts, estates, and tax matters for high and ultra-high net worth clients. Their Private Client lawyers advise clients on a range of matters such as estate planning, tax issues, asset protection, charitable giving, and philanthropy. They also draft and review wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents, and represent clients in disputes related to trusts and estates.
As a Private Client lawyer, you will work closely with the firm's Trusts, Estate and Tax team, as well as other Private Client Services Partners and colleagues across the firm. You will be responsible for managing and mentoring junior lawyers, developing new business, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Working with very wealthy clients, Private Client lawyers may encounter complex matters such as cross-border estates, art collections, family businesses, and philanthropic endeavours. They may also be called upon to advise on the management and administration of trusts and estates, including acting as independent administrators in high net worth contested estates, and advising on complex mental capacity issues.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in private client matters, although less experienced candidates are also invited to apply. You should have strong managerial skills and ideally have a strong referral network or a following.
