My client is a leading FTSE 250 retailer based in North Birmingham. They are currently going though a major transformation programme touching every part of the business and they have identified the need for this new permanent hire of a Commercial Pricing Manager.
Day to day you will be working closely across many parts of the business including IT, Finance, Marketing and procurement to look at existing and historical pricing models, data trends, margin analysis, cost of materials and distribution channels. You will also be expected to get detailed feedback from branch managers, area managers and operations managers into the customer purchasing habits and trends as they differ across the country.
As Pricing Manager you will develop a new structured pricing strategy for the business. They not only sell products but also services. You will keep up to date with pricing trends, competitor pricing and provide insight into competitor analysis.
The company is currently building on it BI capability and this role will naturally work closely with the BI team on the development of improved operational reporting and insight to extract better data that is then used to drive pricing efficiencies.
The successful candidate will be strong on data and analytics and will also be highly commercial. You will be working with multiple stakeholders and having to dig deep and think outside the box to really find the right and relevant information and data. Experience of pricing products and services is essential to succeed here so a background in utilities, services or retail would be advantageous.
