We are currently looking for an experienced PMO Lead to join a competitive and forward thinking retailer based in Staffordshire.
The salary on offer is between £35,000 - £40,000
The day to day purpose of the roll is as follows:
Provide Line Management to a team of PMO Analysts, providing development, coaching and the application of HR processes in line with company policy and guidelines.
Provide day to day task management guidance to PMO Analysts and PMO Support roles on behalf of the PMO Manager
Utilising experience of PMO and change environments, apply your methodology expertise to support and upskill PMO colleagues and provide guidance on project/programme/portfolio best practice
Design and develop new processes to gather portfolio data to enable core analysis and utilise stakeholder management skills to ensure colleagues across the Transformation team understand the processes
Maintain a central portfolio plan on a page and track project milestones throughout delivery, identifying slippage and working with Senior Programme Managers to agree rectification action
Lead the Resource Tracking process, supported by the PMO Analyst, to provide forward-view of shared resources across the business, calling out free and busy periods and proposing corrective actions to remove blockers
Track the status of all projects based on updates from project managers on a weekly basis, including the extraction of data from plans, risk registers and benefit realisation profiles
Utilise trend data extracted from the in-flight project plans, risk registers and benefits realisation profiles to identify or forecast issues including slippage, overspend or unrealised benefits
Provide regular reporting and analysis of project milestones, financials, risks, issues and benefit realisation to inform decision making across the portfolio in a format suitable for use at all levels of seniority
The experience required for this role is as follows:
Essential:
Experience of working within a project or change environment and an expert in governance and methodology best practice
Experience of line management or evidenced coaching/mentoring experience
Excellent prioritisation skills to balance day-to-day task management, guidance and PMO task requirements based on risk, time sensitivities and importance
Passionate about creating and delivering solutions to improve governance practices and to drive high-quality activity through the assessment of project data
An in-depth knowledge of MS Excel is essential, including skills to design databases and manipulate data using pivot tables and formulae. A sound knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and PowerPoint is also required
Displays an analytical evidence-based approach to solving problems, ensuring outputs can be translated for interpretation across all levels of seniority
Keen attention to detail and a desire to provide high-quality outputs in line with company branding guidelines
Adaptable, flexible and able to thrive in a change environment as well as the confidence to drive change based on analytical evidence
Calm, approachable and able to develop good relationships with PMO team members, Transformation colleagues and key stakeholders across the business
Good team working skills and prepared to support colleagues in times of need
Able to work under pressure within time frames and views challenge positively
Desirable
Prince 2 would be an advantage but is not an essential requirement for the PMO Lead role.
