Are you an experienced Senior Payroller or Payroll Supervisor looking for growth in your career? Does working with a close knit team within a large business sound like the best environment for you?

I am thrilled to be partnered with an established business based in Coventry looking to recruit a Payroll Manager into their small team. The successful Payroll Manager will work in the modern Coventry office on a hybrid, permanent basis, for a salary of up to £40,000 PA. The company are thriving; they have recently acquired another large brand to truly cement themselves in the industry and are experiencing vast but stable growth.

The Payroll Manager will be the point of contact between the business and the Managed Service Provider, ensuring all data ownership agreements are adhered to. You will be responsible for two experienced Payroll Clerks, conducting 1-2-1's and support the Clerks where needed, along with managing the processing of high-volume payroll.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the collation of payroll data from various departments within the business
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the wider team
  • Agree and sign off annual processing schedule in conjunction with senior finance team members
  • Manage internal payroll queries (pension, joiners/leavers etc) and focus on process improvements
  • Troubleshoot errors in payroll system
  • Process non-BACS payments (cheque, CHAPS)
  • Innovate and develop continuous improvements for the payroll process
  • Develop strong relationships with line managers to ensure changes in pay are communicated
  • Inform MSP of amendments to the payroll
  • Produce accurate reporting on payroll data for management and key stakeholders
  • Carry out full audit of the data to ensure compliance with RTI requirements
  • Confirm accuracy and authorise production of P60's & P11d's ensuring the provision of any benefit not recorded within iTrent

What you need:

  • A strong understanding and experience of end-to-end payroll
  • Experience of iTrent system is essential
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively deal with queries as and when required
  • Experience of working with an MSP would be beneficial
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with all departments to ensure accuracy and positive improvements can be carried out
