A leading Metals based Aerospace Engineering and Manufacturing business with multiple sites across the UK is going through a surge in order book moving into 2021 and so requires the support of an additional Manufacturing Engineer with experience is CNC Laser equipment, specifically around Trumpf or Laserdyne equipment.
As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering and Process team, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for technical conformity of all products, providing technical documentation, introducing new capabilities while maintaining and developing methods of manufacture. The role will include;
Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Assures product and process quality by monitoring process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
Maintain product and company reputation by complying with governing regulations.
Identify new technologies to improve current processes and implements to completion.
Maintain product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.
The ideal candidate will have proven CNC Laser manufacturing and process engineering knowledge and will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;
Aerospace / Motorsport Laser control specification conversant including substantiation control using either Trumpf or Laserdyne equipment.
CAM Experience in one or more of the following; Radan, Cenit, TruTops (Training can be give but at least 1 required).
Flat bed and 5 Axis laser programming and prove out capability.
Strong attention to detail.
Good knowledge of PFMEA's, DCM's, Control plans, inspection plans, etc.
Good working knowledge of Document control to include ECR, NDA, DAR, Concession, Data Card, SOP, and quotation processes. Input of BOM's, Routing's, Rework Planning / Changes.
