Can you lead on all aspects of the plant and facilities maintenance for a large scale multi-site advanced manufacturing operation for a leading global manufacturing and engineering business? The role of the Maintenance Manager is to drive the plant Maintenance department to maximise equipment reliability in order to support 100% on time delivery and will be responsible for;

Represent maintenance in the senior management team and deputise for the Engineering Manager as required.
Direct management of a team of Engineering Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, stores lead and indirect management of a large multi-disciplined maintenance team based on continuous shift patterns.
To oversee the planning of the Maintenance function for all maintenance/engineering projects
Proactively drive change towards a more proactive Maintenance function
Deal with employee relations issues that arise and identify and organise training requirements
Responsible for the management of the Stores area
Oversee the absence management process
Effectively plan overtime and shift cover
Produce and maintain Maintenance KPIs
Ensure Plant shutdowns are planned, resourced and evaluated with labour and spares requirements
Ensure 95% of the PM and CM systems are consistently maintained
Ensure a SAP system is developed with feedback supplied by Tradesmen, detailed to a satisfactory standard
Ensure all shifts are adequately resourced by controlling holidays and sickness
Manage control documentation, risk assessments and method statements.

With a proven background in a fast paced and demanding Plant Maintenance and Facilities leadership, the ideal individual will have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;

Educated to a minimum HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Apprentice trained
Ability to demonstrate improvements and contribution to the strategic planning of maintenance projects, avoiding downtime where possible
Able to logically analyse problems and derive practical solutions
Extensive staff management experience
Expectation that you will have held full budgetary responsibility for a multi-million pound spend
Experience of managing large capital projects
Experience of HSE in relevant industry.
Leadership skills with excellent communication skills - both written and verbal; clear evidence of having led and developed people and teams
Clear evidence of having demonstrated creativity and success in seeking improvements in performance and operational methods.
Experience of Metals/Oil & Gas/Chemical Engineering/paper or heavy/capital-intensive industry.
