This global Supply Chain and third party logistics business with multiple site footprints here in the UK is now in a state of growth and development due to an marked upturn in business and the desire to deliver strong sales growth across the board. In order to facilitate this, they now require the support of a proven and capable Key Account Manager to drive and manage the successful growth of existing business by building strong, long-term partnerships with customers and demonstrating the value the company can bring to them and their customers, whilst achieving profitability.
The Key Account Manager will be part of a strong and established team spread across multiple locations and with a flexible element of home working available with the role but with the ability to travel to the different company sites as well as customer sites as and when required. The Key Account Manager will be responsible to;
Deliver the growth strategy for existing business in support of company objectives.
Researching, analysing and reporting on market, product and customer changes and trends.
Managing existing accounts to ensure continued success, retention, profitability operational performance and growth.
Identifying, creating and achieving cross-business sales opportunities of our services.
Effectively converting possible business opportunities into actual profitable customer accounts by providing appropriate service/product solutions to meet their needs.
Supporting the project implementation of new business.
Negotiating SLAs and providing cost effective quotes for existing business to achieve expected profit margins.
Developing and improving customer relationship management to deliver effective and timely services in accordance with SLAs.
Regularly liaising with internal and external customers to ensure all required information is provided and received in a timely fashion.
Working with the Business Development/Sales team to support the business development and sales opportunities of new customers as the need arises
Providing customer account and sales support and resolving any account queries or issues.
Providing regular updates and reports on progress and attending management meetings.
Sharing ideas and provide suggestions on continuous improvement.
The ideal Key Account Manager will come from a background in customer management, account development and will ideally have experience within the Medical, Pharmaceutical or associated sectors. Any experience of the provision of third party logistics or supply chain services would also be a distinct advantage. You will also have a strong mix of the following skills and experience;
Experience in fast-moving logistics business, preferably medical or pharmaceutical industry, with support services sales and customer account management or a similar role.
Project management experience.
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Evidence of successful business development with examples of solution focused approach.
Demonstrate financial and commercial knowledge including cost effective quotes, profit margins, markets.
Consistently achieving or exceeding set sales targets.
Full driving license.
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.
Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
Excellent IT skills including Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. SAP an advantage.
