Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently looking for an experienced IT Technician to join a well known company based in Sheffield. This role will be desirable for someone who is only looking to work 2 days a week, which will be based fully on site supporting hardware and software issues.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

You must be knowledgeable in software, hardware, and networks. You must be a critical thinker and a problem-solver with great attention to detail. Since end user support and teamwork are important aspects of the role, excellent communication and people skills are required.

Introduce protocols for the use of IT across departments and projects.

Provide support when making IT choices.

Provide technical support or training for systems and networks.

Install and configure software and hardware.

Monitor system and network performance.

Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and data restoration.

Performance maintenance activities (e.g., backups)

Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules.

Perform other ad-hoc projects or tasks as assigned.

SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES & EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent Microsoft software skills, especially Word, Exchange, PowerPoint, and Explorer.
  • Good analytical ability and practical, hands on disposition.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated, have strong interpersonal skills and can solve problems at source.
  • Excellent organisation skills and good time management.
  • Self-driven, genuine with a positive attitude and clear focus.
  • Proven experience as an IT coordinator or similar role.
  • Experience in network management and help desk support is beneficial.
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems and applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Professional attitude and demeanour.
