Are you a Head of Procurement with experience within the rail sector? Do you have the drive and influencing skills to grow and develop a procurement team, whilst being hands on and getting involved in day to day procurement activity? If so please read on as this role could be perfect for you.

Based in Birmingham, this is a growing organisation where there is genuine opportunity for career progression and development.

As Head of Procurement, you will focus on consolidating spend, supporting procurement with spend analysis and insights and will ensure that procurement activity is completed on time and outputs are delivered. You will also set strategy and vision for the department whilst establishing strong relationships with stakeholders. You will also act as a category manager for key spend categories, creating and implementing strategies and demonstrating best practice.

You will build and maintain a contract and supplier database and work collaboratively with other departments. Along with this you will lead and develop your growing team.

The role will focus on spend areas that include Engineering, MRO and capital equipment. You MUST have a strong track record in delivering in these areas.
In order to carry out this role, you will need the following skills and experience:

• A highly driven attitude with a strong track record of delivering results
• Excellent people management skills
• The ability to build strategic relationships and work collaboratively
• Experience within the rail industry
• An engineering background
• Flexibility - there will be some UK & European travel involved in this role
• MCIPS is desirable

In return you will receive a salary of circa £85,000 to £90,000. depending on experience, plus benefits. If you meet the above criteria, please do not hesitate to apply.
