Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting leading international energy business as they embark upon an ambitious and exciting path of transformation & change. The leadership team of the business in question are not only experienced but also considered in the highest regard across the industry.

The organisation is seeking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Head of Financial Reporting to report directly to the Financial Controller and lead a small team, responsible for delivering the Annual Report and Accounts and Half Year Results Statement for the business.

The successful applicant will also have demonstrable experience in building and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders of all levels, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Preparation of papers to support key accounting balances
  • Managing the audit process and relationship with external auditors
  • Leading the production of periodic financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, half-year & annual results) - responsible for key reporting deliverable to external audiences
  • Leading engagement with all relevant senior stakeholders within the business
  • Becoming a subject matter expert and offering technical expertise and support to the wider finance team and business
  • Ensuring compliance to Financial Control Framework
  • Manage all accounting processes to ensure compliance with specific technical areas - IFRS
  • Manage the business risks and opportunities to ensure financial results are in line with latest expectations or effectively communicated otherwise
  • Plan, execute and manage ongoing finance projects including relevant elements of Finance & Technology Transformation

Essential Skills & Qualifications Required:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Good experience and technical working knowledge of key IFRS relevant to statutory accounts preparation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate - Advanced Excel Skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Comfortable liaising with and challenging senior stakeholders.
