About Our Client
Our client is a Private Equity backed international group of companies who supply products and services, operating within a specialist field. Headquartered in Oxfordshire, they are a highly successful UK based organisation, with manufacturing and distribution facilities both in the UK and overseas. They are a market leader in their specialist field and the business is achieving rapid expansion and has delivered a strong financial performance and strengthened further by continued private equity investment.
The business will deliver year on year revenue and EBITDA growth, both through organic growth and acquisitions. As part of its continued growth, the company will continue to invest which will provide a platform for further expansion. This represents an exciting time to join, working with the CFO to help the business achieve their growth ambitions.
This is a new opportunity for a Head of Finance, reporting into the Group CFO, to strengthen the finance function, and support the future requirements of a growing business. The finance function needs to be able to scale with the business and be an enabler of growth.
You will be expected to provide an effective and comprehensive financial management service for the Group. You will play a key role in the development and management of the finance team, financial controls, processes, and systems to ensure that the Group reporting is accurate and efficient. You will also oversee all financial transactional activity and oversee the operational finance teams.
You will be responsible for managing the financial reporting and analysis of the group. You will also get heavily involved in managing and integrating newly acquired businesses, as well as spearheading a number of other finance initiatives.
For this Head of Finance opportunity in Oxfordshire, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a number of years post qualification experience. Must possess excellent technical skills (UK GAAP & IFRS) and be technically up to date and demonstrate broader commercial business acumen
Financial Controller or equivalent experience is essential and preferably within a group of companies
Previous experience of developing an immature finance function in a business which has experienced growth is highly desirable and preferably you will have a manufacturing and/or distribution background
Acquisition accounting and ideally integration experience will also be important
Preferably you will have experience of managing a financial control function under Private Equity ownership or other leveraged ownership structure
A successful track record in establishing high performing finance teams will be important
A commercial outlook and the ability to take decisive action
Proactive attitude - ability to improve performance and processes
