I am currently working exclusively with a well established manufacturing business based in Oldbury as they are looking for a new Group Reporting Accountant to join their team.

The business themselves are highly profitable and a market leader and need a strong personality to join their group finance function.

This position reports to the Group FD, and forms part of the financial reporting team. In summary the team is responsible for the Group's Internal and External Financial Reporting, including the Group Audit and reporting to the Board and Banks.

Principal Duties

  • Monthly reporting
    • Assist the Group FD in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the group consolidation
    • Preparation of the monthly consolidated cash flow reports
    • Responsible for actioning all direct journals
    • Responsible for monitoring all of the Group's intercompany accounts, both P&L and balance sheet
    • Provision of monthly reporting to the Group CFO and other internal management as requested
  • Group Audit participation
    • Play a lead role in the global consolidation of group financial statements
    • Assist the Group FD in all global Audit work
  • Be a key role in the Financial Reporting function
    • Build effective relationships with finance teams across the business
    • Analyse new IFRS accounting pronouncements as necessary. Update and further develop the Group accounting policies in conjunction with the Group FD
    • Provide advice and support on technical accounting issues to divisional finance teams and senior management
    • Responsible for liaising with divisional finance teams

Skills and attributes required

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Technically strong, with in depth IFRS knowledge
  • Ability to deliver accurate results to tight deadlines with good attention to detail
  • Experience with general accounting, financial statement preparation, consolidations, monthly close processes, and cash flow reporting
  • Familiarity with multi-currency, group consolidations desirable
  • Highly systems literate
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills required
  • Willingness to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and results-oriented
