Are you an experienced Manufacturing Operations professional who has led the full P&L operations of a business while retaining that hands on approach to your role? Are you able to run the day to day operations of a multi-site precision engineered metals based manufacturing and engineering organisation and develop not only its processes but also its capable teams while reporting to the group Chairman?

This 3 site business based in the West Midlands has grown through both organic development and acquisition over the last ten years and is now at around a £10M TO in 2020. The business has both extensive investment as well as ambitious growth plans and is very much in an acquisitive stage of its development with the potential of 3 sites becoming 5 in the next 12 months and with plans to double its TO in the same time period.

Supplying into many different sectors including; Automotive, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Industrial and Nuclear, there is a wide and varied customer and product base and so the potential for growth is extensive over the next 5 years with the longer term ambition for the business to be producing in excess of £50M in revenue. The role will involve the day to day leadership of all aspects of the 3 site manufacturing businesses and supporting the Chairman of the group in his strategic vision to make the organisation a leading player in their market space by enhancing existing client relationships and forging new ones within their space.

The Group MD will need a strong operations based background, ideally in precision machining / fabrication based processes and will have a sound commercial understanding to enable them to develop and deliver that strategic roadmap for the next 5 years as a minimum. A solid engineering and manufacturing understanding is a must-have and they will need to be able to review and improve process with a developed continuous improvement based mindset. A good understand of the precision CNC / Machining / Fabrication sectors and processes would be highly advantageous as would exposure to the sub-contract engineering market.

The role is a key position within the group and offers both the opportunity to grow and develop as well as the potential to gain shares within the group based on achievement and performance over the coming few years via an agreed upon LTIP. This is a role that will require experience, energy and a high level of both operational and commercial acumen but the rewards and autonomy are both there for the right individual alongside a strong remuneration package with developed benefits.
