An extremely rare opportunity has arisen due to the continued growth and success of a large Group based near Chester, for someone early on in their accounting career, to focus on financial accounting and data analytics in a group finance function.

As the Group Assistant Accountant you will have full exposure to group reporting, guided by excellent mentors at all levels of seniority. The successful individual can expect a salary of up to £27,500 per annum + full study support.

The Group Assistant Accountant would best suit a finance individual who loves all things data and Excel, is interested in learning about the wider finance function, with an outgoing personality.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for an individual studying either AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA and will provide a sound introduction to the Group's accounting processes and many challenges in supporting continued business growth.

Keen to speak to individuals who have recently graduated and can demonstrate their proficiency with Excel or someone who is looking to take that next step in their accounting career.

Group Assistant Accountant duties:

The role will involve various aspects of financial accounting and is expected to expand with the growth of the Group. This will include:

  • Assisting with the monthly Group consolidation processes;
  • Preparation of preliminary Group month end journals;
  • Group CAPEX analysis reporting;
  • Supporting the Group forecasting and budgeting P&L processes;
  • Supporting the Group forecasting and budgeting CAPEX processes;
  • Assisting with recent introduction of weekly group reporting (dashboard reporting to the Executive Team);
  • Assisting with Group financial tasks as appropriate;
  • Assisting with the production of the annual financial statements and the information pack for the statutory auditors;
  • Creating relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate information flow;
  • Supporting with ad hoc investigation and project tasks.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, enthusiastic and logical individual with a keen interest in developing and utilising data analysis skills. The candidate will provide key support for senior leaders within the wider Group.
