A large manufacturing organisation is seeking a hands on Financial Controller, to join their highly successful Business in North Staffordshire on a permanent basis. A salary in the range of £60,000 to £70,000 is on offer + pension, PHI and company bonus scheme.
This is an exciting time to join the company as it goes through a period of growth. The role will suit a dynamic individual who can work closely with the Managing Director in ensuring the company's financial targets and objectives are met. There is also the need to initially get into the detail and resolve some challenges they are having with their management Reporting / Accounting process, so the desire to 'get your hands dirty' at time is essential.
Financial Controller - Responsibilities
- Managing a team of 5 Finance professionals
Guides and oversees the preparation of financial reporting, including the development of financial analyses, statements and forecasts
Acts as a key finance business partner in support of the MD by developing and driving strategies that support long-term growth
Generates business plans in line with strategic and operational objectives of the business unit
Monitors, tracks and drives performance, seeking corrective action where required to ensure delivery of the business plan
Challenges and supports the business unit head and Group Executive including taking a lead on investment appraisals (products, new business)
Oversees the performance of financial and regulatory compliance and governance
Drives the business unit to maintain all internal and external financial controls, accounting policies and procedures
Creates and maintains strategic relationships with stakeholders outside of the business unit Develops people, skills and succession plans, and manages the Finance team's performance
Financial Controller - Who are we looking for?
- Will consider either a Chartered Accountant who trained with a recognised Audit firm ("1st movers" at Manager or Senior Manager grade are encouraged to apply), or ACMA and ACCA Qualified Accountants with relevant experience
- Strong financial control skills
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience
- The natural ability to influence and develop relationships
- Track record of people management
- Previous Large Company experience preferred
