Gleeson Recruitment Group are looking to recruit a Financial Controller for a very well-known manufacturing and distribution business based in Warwick who are part of a larger Group. This is a great opportunity to get involved in an ever changing, growing business who are going to be involved in lots of M&A work over the next 12 - 18 months.

You will ideally be ACA qualified, have strong team management skills and be happy to roll your sleeves up when required. You will work closely with a very strong FD who has the development of people high on the agenda at all times. You will have strong technical accounting knowledge (ideally UK GAAP & IFRS) and will also work closely with the Senior Management Team who will allow you the autonomy to manage your team as you see fit.

The Company

The successful Financial Controller will be working for a well-known business who are experts in their field and who have won awards for their "top of the range" products. This role will allow you to drive direct improvements through your actions and will see you operating a very broad remit by interacting across both Operations and Corporate functions. You will manage a very experienced team in the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and adequate financial controls.

The Role

As the Financial Controller you will take full accountability for the numbers as well as get involved with various ad hoc projects. Main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Manage and develop a team comprising of transactional and fully qualified staff, to ensure all deadlines are met, accounts and reports are accurate and statutory obligations adhered to
  • Full understanding of company profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow
  • Deliver smooth month-end closing & consolidation process
  • Maintain robust internal control environment
  • Delivery and coordination of quarter end and year-end close

· Preparation of adhoc reports to senior management

  • Supervise and ensure that all activities performed in the Shared Service Centre are compliant with the legal requirements at a local level and that Group policies and procedures are adhered to
  • The delivery of management and statutory reporting, including analysis and supporting information
  • Supporting the FD with the co-ordination of the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and strategic planning processes
  • Liaising with external Advisors in relation to audit, taxation and other areas
  • Working with Group on all statutory reporting requirements
  • Ad hoc projects
