Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with this influential, well-known, global brand in Cheltenham, who are recognised for their excellent and progressive working culture, to recruit a Financial Accountant.

As the Financial Accountant, you will play a key part within the finance division. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for helping to prepare the IFRS Group year end and interim accounts, as well as the preparation of local subsidiary accounts across a number of territories. There will also be the opportunity to get involved in projects and assist with the implementation of new financial standards where relevant. You will business partner with a wide variety of contacts across Finance and externally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordination and production of the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements and other supporting schedules as part of the month end, half year and year end close.
  • Preparation of the statutory reporting disclosures and liaison with external auditors.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts at year end.
  • Producing budgets and forecasts for both senior management and non-financial stakeholder purposes.
  • Coordination and production of process improvement activities.
  • Assist with the management of European subsidiary accounting, including managing audits remotely and liaising with external accountants.
  • Work closely with the tax team on the collation of information required for international tax returns.
  • Assist in the preparation of the consolidated IFRS Group accounts.
  • Act as a key contact and have a hands on role in the success of the Group audits at year end and interim.
  • Monitor intercompany recharges and compliance with transfer pricing requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packs for overseas entities.
  • You will work closely with the overall finance team, supporting team objectives through the year, providing support.

The requirements:

  • You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with Big 4 audit experience desirable.
  • Good technical knowledge of IFRS.
  • This role is ideal for someone who is looking to make their first move from practice into industry who is experienced in production and /or audit of statutory accounts.
  • Proactive, driven, resilient and able to work under your own initiative.
  • A highly organised, diligent person with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A confident communicator who can develop relationships across all business functions.
