Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working with an industry leading property consultancy who are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team in Birmingham. This role will join a very productive and energetic team with line management responsibility for 3 individuals. This role will report into the Associate Director and will predominantly oversee one of the businesses largest client accounts. As part of this Finance Manager role you will be competent in use of Excel and be comfortable working with heavy data flows. A large amount of this role includes checks and balances, reviewing outputs of the team and supporting in their development. The Role

As Finance Manager you will be responsible for the following:

  • Preparation, review and delivery of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, inter-company adjustments and balance sheet schedules for client entities, including overall management of the month end process.
  • Managing a team including one to ones, development of team members and undertaking appraisals
  • Prepare/review site-level variance analysis of rent, rates, VSR expenditure and rent, rates income on a trend basis and against budget/forecast.
  • Review and delivery of monthly IFRS 16 reporting.
  • Co-ordinate pre month end cut off activities and ensure completed before system cut off
  • Continual reviews of processes, systems & controls to ensure that QA is being adhered to and to identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Sign off the control and balance sheet accounts including bank reconciliations providing high level commentary of movement and highlighting risk/opportunities.
  • Cash management - review rolling cash forecasts and funding requests along with a consolidated funding summary. Proactive monitoring of cash levels against forecast payments and providing commentary on variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts covering OPEX and Working Capital
  • Review and deliver additional ad hoc reports as required by the client and be a primary point of contact for the client.
  • Co-ordinating the inputs from all teams to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop a full understanding of the control objectives to maintain the ISAE 3402 standard and record appropriate evidence.
  • Complete monthly client related performance statistics

The Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will already have line management experience along with:

  • Qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Problem solving abilities
  • Ability to deal with high volumes of work and prioritise accordingly
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
  • High level of IT knowledge including advanced knowledge of excel, ability to deal with and manipulate large quantities of data
