Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently supporting a fantastic private equity backed business based in Burton Upon Trent who are recruiting for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) to join them as a Finance Manager.
The role is paying up to £65,000 plus bonus and benefits and offers fantastic opportunity to join a PE environment at a stage of high investment and growth. The role also offers great progression and exposure, the role is office based with a hybrid working model and plenty of flexibility around hours.
Key Duties, Finance Manager, Burton Upon Trent
- Consolidation of the group accounts, along with preparation of statutory accounts and audit lead.
- Preparation of P11d calculations and HMRC reporting for VAT, TOMS and Corporation tax.
- Work with the Financial Accountant to prepare consolidated monthly management accounts for the group and the individual entities.
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliation process compiling the opportunities and risk analysis.
- Delivery of the month end management accounts pack, including financial statements with insightful, commercially focused commentary and risks & opportunities analysis.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the Board, banks, and other external stakeholders.
- Support / lead the development and implementation of cost centre reporting to drive senior managers' understanding of their performance vs budget / forecast and support in the control of overhead spend.
- Support the delivery of the Finance Transformation project, streamlining and automating processes to materially reduce time spent on routine tasks, thereby creating more time to focus on value-creating opportunities.
Skills & Experience, Finance Manager, Burton Upon Trent
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Post-qualification experience
- Up to date accounting technical knowledge (UK GAAP, IFRS)
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis (e.g., pivot tables, lookups) and financial modelling
- Demonstrable team management, motivation, and development skills
- Effectively challenges the status quo and looks for improvements
- Self-starter with high levels of drive, energy, and resilience to succeed in a fast paced and challenging environment
