Gleeson Recruitment Group are currently partnering with a medium sized Schools Trust based in Shropshire who are recruiting for a qualified accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA,CIPFA) to join them as a Finance Manager.

The role is an all encompassing assignment that reports directly into a CFO with considerable exposure to Trustee's. Whilst the role does offer great exposure it should also be viewed as a lifestyle role with large amounts of flexibility in terms of working hours/days & working from home. There is also an option for this role to be part time for the right candidate.

Skills: Finance Manager, Shropshire, £42,000 or Part Time

  • A proven track record in managing a finance function to the highest of standards, constantly striving to seek improvements in processes·
  • A relevant professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA)·
  • Interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with staff at all levels including Trustees and Senior Leaders. ·
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to manage, manipulate and interpret data, with experience of managing and operating key financial systems·
  • The ability to manage time and a finance team, delegating as appropriate, multitasking and working to tight deadlines

Experience: Finance Manager, Shropshire

  • At least 2 years' experience of managing a finance function
  • Experience of working with computerised Accounting (Sage is desirable), Budget modelling systems, MS office packages particularly Excel and Word
  • Experience of business planning and monitoring including the production of monthly management accounts and associated MI and commentary
  • Experience of facilitation and management of External Financial Statements Audit
  • Experience of preparing financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statutory cashflow and associated notes
  • Experience of preparing financial reports and information for Senior Management and external stakeholders
  • Evidence of financial modelling including rolling forecasts and 3 to 5 year projections
  • Experience of financial appraisal of projects, capital and revenue and applying appropriate decision making techniques
