Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a high growth private equity backed business who are recruiting for a qualified Finance Manager (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), due to the growth plans of the business this role will develop and so would suit a candidate with ambitions of stepping up into Financial Controller level roles.

The role on day one will have close involvement with the transactional finance team to develop and implement financial controls, ensuring that processes and controls are well understood and communicated across the division. Preparation of divisional management accounts, including meaningful commentary with explanation of variances against the agreed business case (budget). Develop a strong business partnering relationships with non-finance stakeholders and teams across the division, supporting operational teams with the understanding of any financial implications of commercial decisions to achieve margin targets.

Key Responsibilities, Finance Manager, Birmingham

  • Lead the timely production of monthly management accounts and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Contribute to the year-end account preparation and act as key point of contact for external audit
  • Develop financial reporting and commercial analysis capability and establish regular review meetings with all non-financial departments
  • Assist the Finance Controller in conducting ad-hoc operational and financial analysis where required
  • Ensure appropriate financial controls are in place and functioning effectively

Key Skills & Experience, Finance Manager, Birmingham

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
  • Experience of management and statutory accounts preparation
  • Technically strong accounting knowledge
  • Familiar with both transactional and management accounting functions
  • Good Excel skills
  • Experience within a high-growth / PE-backed business (desirable)
  • Experience of using business intelligence software (e.g. Power BI) (desirable)
  • People management experience (desirable)
