Finance Manager - Solihull - 55 - 65k + Bonus
Gleeson are supporting a growing organisation In Solihull to recruit a Finance Manager who can provide robust challenge and support to business leaders to maximise potential opportunities and minimise risks. The business is growing and constantly looking for new investment opportunities across their multiple businesses in the group. Progression will see this role develop into a Group Financial Controller.
The role will report directly into a Finance Director, who has high expectations and will always demand the very best, but also understands the need to develop individuals and will ensure the Finance Manager is provided the skillset to take on their role in the future. The role initially has 3 direct reports who will manage the transactional side, and there are plans in place for additional heads to join to support with the management and financial accounts preparation - The Finance Manager will need to demonstrate a hands on approach and a managerial style that ensures the team are developed and feel motivated. The month end process is currently 7 days and the right person will support in reducing this by implementing new process and automating as many tasks as possible. Ownership of the management and statutory accounting process is crucial for this role and needs an accountant who has a genuine interest in improving performance and supporting the business growing further.
This isn't going to be one of your standard business as usual Finance Manager roles because there is an aggressive growth plan in place and this role will be part of the decision making process when evaluating new investment opportunities and supporting with detailed commercial analysis and market insight. Due to the role having a commercial focus, the finance manager needs to posses a business partnering mentality and enjoys building relationships across the whole business, challenging the leadership team and enjoys analysing data and providing insightful reporting to the board. Excel ability is going to be crucial for this and will likely be tested at Interview.
The role will suit an Accountant who is ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified and enjoys a commercially focused role that offers team management and enjoys taking ownership of the enitre accounting function.
