Our client is a well-established and growing private equity backed company. They are an international business with a broad customer base. Looking ahead they are forecasting growth both top and bottom line, and our client has created this new Finance Director - Corporate appointment. This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced management team and your ability to drive change as part of the leadership team will be essential. This is a high-profile group appointment, with a clear path through to a CFO role.

Job Description

This is a newly created role for a Finance Director - Corporate, located at their offices in the Midlands. This is a key role reporting to the CFO, and you will essentially be their right hand. You will have overall responsibility of the corporate finance function of the group and will be responsible for bringing together all central finance functions under one umbrella.

The role is one of transformation and will have significant leadership responsibility. You will be expected to further develop the accounting function around process optimisation and to design and restructure the team to create a 'centre of excellence' around business partnering and commercial finance support.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Oversight of the Central Accounting functions and SSC
  • Oversight over group consolidation and reporting to the Parent company and Private Equity owners
  • Lead the annual group budget and strategic planning process
  • Oversight of a newly created business partnering for central functions & a 'centre of excellence
  • Oversight over SOX compliance framework for the group
  • You will continue the development of a high performing finance function and will be a key member of the Finance Leadership Team in leading business success and the wider goals of organisational development and transformation.

The Successful Applicant

For this newly created Finance Director - Corporate opportunity in the Midlands you will be a qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) with proven experience in a senior finance role where significant change, transformation and improvement of business performance has been at the core of your role. Deep experience in change management in a growing/ transforming organisation will be important

The role requires an FD who has the strength of character to challenge whilst being able to do so in a collegiate and considered manner. It is also important that you are comfortable leading change, capable of influencing at all levels and understand what a best-in-class group finance function looks like

A demonstrable track record of defining effective finance strategy and leading significant finance teams will be important and ideally through cultural change

Preferably experience in process transformation and working in turnaround situations

Must also be commercially astute with an ability to support decision making in complex contractual environments and the experience of working in a multi-site operationally focused business

Experience of working in a US business applying US Gaap and SOX will be highly advantageous
