Gleeson Recruitment Group are working closely with a rapidly growing division of a FTSE 100 listed energy firm as they seek to appoint a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to their team based in Warwickshire.

The business in question leads the much-needed investment programme required to significantly change & transform our energy infrastructure. This proves to be an exciting time to join a secure organisation that manages and develops the UK's energy infrastructure. Our client does not operate in the retail market and so is not adversely exposed to the fluctuations of prices in the energy industry.

The successful candidate will be the finance lead on a broad range of transformation projects across the business unit, seeking to develop relationships with senior stakeholders to identify and deliver outperforming opportunities, to track, monitor and report on progress and hold those responsible for delivering to account. You will also take responsibility for driving the improvement and transparency of the indirect cost base of the business unit. You will seek clarity on forecasts and efficiency initiatives, ensuing these are transparent, and that levers for further efficiency are well understood.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Lead the finance element of the business wide integration programme, engaging relevant internal stakeholders to track and monitor initiative benefits, and challenging leads to deliver and identify further opportunities.
  • Working with the Group Transformation team, identifying performance gaps across future years and exploring tangible measures to address the gaps.
  • Tracking and reporting on Opex savings, working with stakeholders across the business to drive further opportunities for Opex reductions.
  • Taking a finance lead on implementing a cost conscious culture across the business unit, working with the project team to embed new initiatives.
  • Business partner to the Digital Team, developing business cases as part of the Digital Transformation, and reviewing ahead of submission to Investment Committee.
  • Ensure close working relationships are maintained across group finance and the other key functions within business unit to make sure full integration of transformation activity with Quarterly forecasts and strategic business plans.
  • Create and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders to build and maintain credibility and maximise positive outcomes.
  • Manage any potential additional spend outside of forecast to determine the cost benefit and regulatory position to support the decision-making process
  • Review and manage budgeting and forecasting activities and work with Controllership to ensure budget and forecast updates are provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Develop financial analysis which can lead to the delivery of reduced cost, efficiency and performance improvement within business area.
