Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be working in an exclusive partnership with this well-known, market leading brand, as we support them through their growth phase in the recruitment of a Business Controller, based in Lutterworth. This is a newly created role, that offers fantastic exposure to commercial and autonomous finance projects.

The primary purpose of this role is to drive improved business performance, you will develop and agree short and medium-term business plans. You will also agree business targets for all areas of the business to meet objectives, challenge business to improve, agreeing owners and timelines to ensure delivery. You will be responsible for delivering high quality business forecasting, management information and analysis.

The Job:

Reporting into the Head of the Department, you will be an ambitious, commercially-minded Controller, with proven experience of building strong relationships within the non-financial stakeholders to take a joined up, proactive approach. You will be a true business partner, taking ownership of the delivery of business and financial targets.

Duties include:

  • Responsible for budgeting and delivery of the forecasting cycle.
  • Drive revenue, working with sales teams to optimise customers and rates.
  • Review commercial & operational reports to ensure risks & opportunities are understood.
  • Understand & report on business plans.
  • Prepare and review weekly & monthly MI to support Directors including P&L & KPIs.
  • Challenge stakeholders & recommend actions to improve performance & ensure delivery.
  • Assist management with financial decisions, providing analysis & MI to support the business.
  • Performance measured on delivery of business improvement & meeting of financial targets.

The Requirements:

  • Ideally ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Resilient self-starter who identifies problems and implements solutions.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Able to manage stakeholders at many levels within an organisation.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financials into meaningful business recommendations.
  • Positive and resilient; enjoys a busy, fast-paced way of working.
  • Contractually, you will be based in Lutterworth for at least 1 day per week, with travel to regional sites.
