Our client is a leading national charity who have struck the balance between being passionate about their cause and being commercially aware. With a total freehold, leasehold and development estate of around 350-400 properties they have sites across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In this role you will be remotely based with occasional travel to sites and the opportunity to structure your working hours in a way that maximises your output and your life.

What you will do

  • Work with the Head of Property to ensure that our client has a relevant strategy for ensuring good management of the estates
  • Take day-to-day lead to deliver lease events, acquisitions and disposals as well as management of the Senior Estates Surveyor to endure delivery if the full strategy and plan
  • The portfolio is mixed with freehold and leasehold property interests. The Estates Manager will work with key internal customers to ensure that the retail and offices portfolio lease events are forward planned and managed on time and in the most cost effective manner
  • Detailed knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant 1954 Act and be hands-on in delivering lease events and the acquisition and disposal of leased properties
  • Build relationships and work with stakeholders and customers internally and externally
  • Influence the agenda and guide your stakeholders and customers to ensure best property outcomes
  • Support the Head of Property with year-end requirements and support finance with enquiries
  • Promote the organisation in a positive light and demonstrate a clear understanding of their mission, vision and values
  • Agree with Head of Property the regular reports required and take responsibility for collecting this information and producing reports
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of mission, vision and values

The bit about you

  • Demonstrate transferable experience in either the charitable or private sector
  • MRICS in Commercial Property and BSc in a built environment discipline
  • Experience working with external customers
  • Ability to read and understand commercial lease terms
  • The confidence to communicate clearly and effectively whilst also being a good listener
  • Multi-site experience
  • Organised with attention to detail
  • Be dynamic and self-motivated
