I'm recruiting an Engineering Director for a global manufacturer based in Coventry, with divisions in Europe and North America. Having led significant positive change in the UK & Europe over the last 2 years, followed by the acquisition of a North American manufacturer in 2017 and a UK-based service provider in 2018, this is an ambitious business delivering on its growth strategy. The Engineering Director will actively lead the transformation of the function to enable robust new product development as part of the next phase of development.

You'll have progressed your career in either Engineering or Product Management and established yourself as a proven leader of a Product Development team, ideally with experience in the development of complex electro-mechanical products. You will have experience engaging with the customer and with internal Sales & Marketing functions to establish the requirement, before leading a robust, structured NPD process to deliver innovative new products.

You will lead the reorganisation of the global Product Development function into an agile, fit-for-purpose team delivering engineering excellence and bringing innovative new products to the market. You will ensure that a robust stage-gated process is in place, working with stakeholders across the business to ensure its consistent and successful execution. You'll work to understand the capability of the current team, with a focus on coaching & development where appropriate and recruitment where required to build your vision for the function.
