Job Title: Employment Associate

A reputable legal firm is seeking an Employment Associate to join their dynamic team based in Milton Keynes, led by an excellent Employment Partner. The firm's Employment Team is ranked in Band 1 in Chambers & Partners and is recognised as a Leader in the Field by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500. The team comprises over 48 employment specialists across the country, providing a specialist employment law and HR advisory service to a range of companies from PLCs to SMEs.

As an Employment Associate, you will work to a consistently high level and provide an exemplary level of client service and care. You should have a strong passion for employment law, excellent communication skills, and work well in a team. The team takes a holistic approach to their work, offering a corporate level of service with a personal touch. The team also continues to experience rapid growth, so this role would suit someone looking to get involved in business development.

Your responsibilities will include competent financial management and commercial awareness, contributing actively toward business development opportunities, maintaining up-to-date technical expertise, and continuously developing interpersonal and soft skills. You will be accountable for your own personal development and will carry out any other reasonable tasks that may be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will have directly relevant previous experience and the correct level of post-qualified experience (PQE) for the role in question. They should have a strong commercial acumen and understanding of the industry and business of the client, a proven track record of competent financial management, ability to meet client expectations, and sound case management skills. Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using case management systems, electronic time recording, and general Microsoft packages are also essential. The candidate should be a self-starting, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal skills and consistently demonstrate and embody the firm's values.
This firm trusts their people to work flexibly in the way that works best for them, their teams, and their clients. They have an inclusive attitude and diversity, winning 'Firm of the Year' at the UK Diversity Legal Awards and achieving Silver in the Investors in People Award.
