Our client, a leading conveyor and automated solutions manufacturer in the south east Staffordshire area is looking to expand their service department with an additional service engineer to work on the manufacture, install, commissioning and service of their industry leading automated machinery.

Scope of role:

Reporting to the head of service, you will work in collaboration with the service department building bespoke machinery, travelling to customer sites, installing, and commissioning equipment and providing on call servicing to key accounts.

Responsibilities

  • To complete mechanical and electrical building of automation machinery both on the shop floor and on customer sites
  • To install and commission automated systems on customer sites across the UK and internationally
  • Carry out routine preventative maintenance across customer sites, as well as reactive maintenance to issues that crop up on or off-site.
  • Carry out field-troubleshooting and upgrade work.

Key Requirements:

  • HND / HNC and/ or Degree Qualified In a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • High level of both electrical and mechanical knowledge & competency
  • Strong engineering knowledge covering mechanical, electrical and controls.
  • You should ideally have experience maintaining and servicing control systems, industrial drives, and have some knowledge on PLCs, Drives and SCADA systems
  • Ability to work "hands-on" across multiple teams and disciplines to contribute toward the success of the business.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 50% of the time, and on occasion stay away from home to fulfil customer requirements as and when needed for up to 3 weeks at a time, both nationally and potentially internationally
  • Outstanding communicator across all levels of the business and external stakeholders
  • Represent the business to customers and clients to a high degree of professionalism.
  • Full clean driving license
