Having met with the Site Manager and Engineering Manager of an industry leading business, I'm extremely excited to be working with them now after converted our relationship from candidate to client having placed them both on site in the last 12 months. During their time they have made significant improvements to the plant and are on the journey from good to great. I, personally left the site in a positive mind set and having met with several members of the team during our walk round they feel a lease of life has been injected into the plant.
At this site we have a variety of requirements due to continuous investment and growth plans. Two Electrically biased Maintenance Engineers are required to join a well established engineering team. The first opportunity will be based on days working from Monday to Friday, with the second working a panama shift pattern - inclusive of days & nights.
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
- Attend to reactive maintenance breakdowns across the site that has machinery ranging from 1 year old to 35 years old.
- During quieter periods you will work closely with the engineering supervisors to attend and plan preventative maintenance activities.
- As a team you will have targets to hit, such as reducing downtime across the plant to less than 3 hours a day which is currently on average at 5 hours.
- Ensure you are always working within Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards across the site.
In order for you to be considered for the role of Electrical Maintenance Engineer it is essential that you have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in order to attend electrical breakdowns on your own and within a team. Within the group this site is the second largest the business own, its highly automated and has a variety of PLC's which include both Siemens and Allan Bradley. Having previously worked with either of these software would be seen as highly advantageous.
What can I expect in return, I hear you say?
As an industry leading business they only offer the best packages in order to attract the best talent! As a basic salary you will receive £32k to working days and for the shift role an additional 30% shift allowance which will take you to £42k. All hours worked outside of standard will be paid as 1 ½ and double time on Sundays.
