This is high profile Divisional Financial Controller opportunity with a split location between the Midlands and West Yorkshire, off set with some home working and travel to manufacturing sites. Reporting directly to the Divisional FD for the group's largest division, this role sits at the heart of the business and is a great entry route to a highly successful group.
You will lead the Central Finance Function to uphold the division's financial control and optimise cash. You will be directly accountable for the division's cash management, balance sheet control, financial reporting, and Shared Service Centre (SSC) transactions including AP, AR, Expenses and Master Data, and accounting for Procurement Rebates. It is also important that you are comfortable leading change to ensure the safe transition of SSC from Group to a divisional function.
You will be responsible for leading a significant Finance Team to ensure high performance levels are attained and will be a key member of the wider Divisional Management and Finance Leadership Team. You will also lead and oversee the division's audits and uphold financial controls
For this high profile Divisional Financial Controller opportunity, you must be a qualified accountant (preferably ACA, or ACCA) with significant post qualified experience. Ideally you will have trained in Audit in a Top 10 Firm and have several years industry experience from a manufacturing background.
A strong background in audit and financial control is essential and a good knowledge of UK GAAP. As well as manufacturing, some experience of working across a large, complex, multi-site business will be crucial.
It is also important that you are comfortable leading change, capable of influencing at all levels and a strong leader with a successful track record in establishing high performing finance teams. A commitment to personal growth and development, personally and for colleagues will be crucial.
An ability to manage complex and diverse environments, whilst still promoting a culture of continuous improvement will also be important, and an understanding of what a best-in-class finance function looks like. Allied to this, you will need to demonstrate strong analytical skills and be able to balance the need for analysis and rigour with speed of action when solving problems.
Flexibility to travel between the Midlands and West Yorkshire and to different UK manufacturing sites will be important. There will be some flexibility to work from home.
