This Pharmaceutical & Chemical producer is one of the key site for a global business and is responsible for the production and packaging of some very key Pharmaceutical / FMCG items and due to an ever increasing demand for its goods and services, is now seeking to add an additional member to their ten strong Controls and Instrumentation team at their site in Nottinghamshire.
The Controls Technician will be a key member of this busy engineering team and key to the development, maintenance and growth of this state of the art facility. Working on a shift basis, you will be responsible for all Manufacturing Maintenance activities within production lines and/or process areas while supporting the entire operation day to day with a specific slant on plant PLC based controls and instrumentation.
You will need to have a detail driven attitude and approach to your work as precision and exact specification is key to this production facility. For this role you will have a solid mix of the following skills and experience;
Minimum of 3 years experience as an Electrical Technician
Experience in the maintenance and trouble shooting of electrical and electronic industrial control systems.
Must have experience in dealing with staff at all levels of expertise, with the ability to communicate with people at their level of understanding.
Use PLC programming terminals to interrogate PLC code.
Make minor software programming changes.
Install and configure variable speed drive controllers.
Understand how to optimize all types of automation sensors.
Be able to diagnose problems on pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
Recognize and demonstrate the importance of instrumentation calibration and associated record keeping.
