We are currently recruiting for a Contract Manager to work within a UK leading Higher Education institution within their particular field. This is a 3-month rolling contract with the possibility of some remote working.
The Primary role of Contracts Manager will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of research agreements, amendments and transfers from a broad base of funders and collaborators including Industry, Research Councils, Government Departments, Charities and Higher Education Institutions. Typical agreements/contracts include those relating to collaborative research, subcontracts, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, memoranda of understanding, data sharing and loan agreements.
As the successful Contracts Manager, you are required to have significant experience in Contract Management, ideally this will have been gained within pharma, biotech or academia but they are willing to be flexible.
Responsibilities:
Negotiation to achieve the best possible contractual terms including with respect to limitation of liability, publication rights, intellectual
property, price and other key research contract related issues.
Keeping abreast of changes to contractual terms and conditions and in particular their policies relating to issues such as liability, price, intellectual property rights and freedom to publish.
Contributing to development and maintenance of operational procedures and policies, including the preparation of new template agreements.
Applicants will need to possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, you will be committed to providing the highest standard of professionalism and customer service, often under pressure and have experience of developing close and effective working relationships with colleagues both internally as well as externally.
