Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be working exclusively with a leading UK charity to recruit for their growing and forward thinking fundraising team.

We are looking for a Community and Events Fundraising Manager to join on a 3 year FTC (with view to go perm).

This role is looking to recruit people to join and donate to events set up by the events team. Please note this role is not organising events. This role focuses on stakeholder management and being able to influence members of the public to get involved and become donors to the charity.

Salary: £30,000 - £37,500

Contract: Full time, 3 year FTC with view to go perm - hybrid 2 days in office

Start date: August/September 2022

The role:

You will be growing the community and event income by increasing opportunities and standards of fundraising. This role sits firmly within the fundraising department and will be leading a team to continuously improve upon current community and events income and develop new and creative fundraising ideas as well as influencing and encouraging the public to join and donate.

Key requirements:

  • Develop and implement a community and events fundraising strategy
  • Line manage a team
  • Represent the charity at events
  • Raise awareness of the charity
  • Ensure you are using systems and data bases effectively
  • Ensure the public are aware of and are maximising online fundraising tools
  • Work with the Director of Communications and Fundraising on the development of community and events fundraising strategy and budget
  • Plan and implement fundraising activities
  • Be creative in developing new fundraising activities
  • Help supporters of the charity overcome any challenges to maximise fundraising efforts
  • Work to improve the retention of charity supporters

Candidate criteria:

  • Excellent people skills and ability to influence large groups of people
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative background and ability to come to the table with new ideas and implement those ideas
  • Copy writing and content skills
  • Ability to work with data and report on findings
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good experience working with budgets
  • Experience of multiple types of income streams
  • Media knowledge
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Creative and confident
