Working for one of the leading global industrial manufacturing groups within their field of expertise, the Process Commissioning Engineer will be a key part of the engineering team to take customer thermal process projects from detail design then build right through to delivery, commissioning and handover to the customer on a truly international basis.
As a process commissioning engineer based out of their main engineering and production facility in Germany, you will be required to travel worldwide to deliver, install and commission the companies range of thermal process products to a wide variety of end user clients across many different industry sectors and will be involved in the following tasks week to week;
Support in the preparation of offers and conceptual development of systems for the sub-area Electrical and Instrumentation
Support in the selection and design of the complete E&I technology during project engineering
Preparation of circuit diagrams for external control cabinet construction
Engineering and optimization of PLC programs and visualization with Siemens TIA-Portal
Implementation of signal exchange with customer-specific Scada systems
Loop check, setup and commissioning of components such as frequency converters, flow meters, control valves etc.
Commissioning and Optimization of the process on site
Documentation and report on the progress of commissioning to the project team using checklists and protocols
Instruction and training of the operating personnel
Handover of the system to the customer
You will be an experienced electro-mechanical commissioning engineer with a desire and ability to travel frequently on a truly global basis as the role will require this on a monthly basis. You will need a strong mix of the following skills and experience;
Successfully completed studies or further training as a technician in the field of electrical engineering, automation or similar qualifications
Knowledge of PLC-control, regulation and drive technology
S7-programming with TIA-Portal, experience in Proleit or Allen Bradley are also helpful but not essential
Sound experience in the commissioning of process plants or associated equipment
Process plant knowledge in the areas of distillation, rectification and evaporation technology is advantageous but not essential
Structured and goal-focussed way of thinking and working
Strong people skills to be able to liaise with both internal and customer teams on site
Very good spoken and written English and German language skills would also be highly advantageous
