Gleeson Recruitment Group are working exclusively in partnership with a household name business, who are looking to recruit a Commercial Financial Controller into their ever growing team.

This business are turning over in excess of £500 million, with operating profits which exceed £100 million. This role sits within a business unit whose turnover is c.£260 million. You will manage a small team, but will very much be seen as the number 2 to the Finance Director for this division. There is definite progression potential within the role, as there are plans afoot for you to step into the FD position in around 3 years, so they are looking for someone who has this potential and ambition to make this step up.

Salary on offer is up to £80,000, plus bonus. The business is very flexible and operates on a hybrid model, where the expectation is for you to be in the office 2 days a week, on average.

Key responsibilities for the Commercial Financial Controller role:

Driving financial performance and adding value, by providing financial insight, and assisting with effective prioritisation and decision making
Owning, developing and maintaining financial processes, systems and controls
Deputising for the Finance Director when needed, with excellent exposure to the CEO and CFO
Providing the executive team with effective financial insight and insight
Identifying opportunities to add value, through a continual focus on process enhancement, which includes; revenue leakage reduction, working capital optimisation and maximising tax efficiency
Owning all elements of financial control, which includes; annual budgets, weekly and monthly reporting and periodic reforecasts
Cash flow management
Preparation of weekly cashflow forecasts
Monthly management accounts, with P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, with variance analysis and commentary

Key requirements for the Commercial Financial Controller role:

You must be ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with a number of years post-qualified experience
Proven experience in a complex, fast-paced and commercial environment
Exceptional financial modelling and analytical skills
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Line management experience
