Are you an experienced Buyer with experience in purchasing consumables, packaging and materials? Would you like to put your purchasing and materials management skills to good use within a large, Birmingham based, distribution organisation? If so, please read on to find out more about this exciting Buyer role.
You will have responsibility for material master data and BOM management within the organisation's ERP system and will ensure customer materials queries and issues are dealt with appropriately. You will maintain procedural documentation and determine and coordinate the procurement of materials. You will also be responsible for keeping inventory levels at a minimum whilst ensuring production schedules are met. You will also support with sourcing and new product introduction. The MRP process will also fall under remit as well as coordinating procurement activity to meet customer forecasts and backlog.
In order to carry out this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
- SAP experience is essential
- Previous purchasing experience within a logistics or manufacturing environment
- Strong organisational skills
- Strong Excel and Word skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- A solutions based outlook
