Are you able to coach, mentor and support a range of clients across a diverse manufacturing sector base including; Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Renewable and Industrial Manufacturing? Are you able to operate as a Business Improvement Coach within the Purchasing and Supply Chain specialism and be part of a multi-functional team to deliver tangible and real world improvements to your clients?

Established in 2013, this leading UK manufacturing and engineering consultancy business has grown to almost 100 people through its successful delivery of Business Improvement and Transformation projects across the UK manufacturing and engineering client base and now is in a state of growth once again due to ever increasing workload and new clients joining their projects.

Made up of many different specialist streams including engineering, commercial and supply chain functions, they now require the support of an additional Business Coach within their busy Commercial and Business Development Team.

In the role of a Business Development Coach you will utilise your skills and knowledge to provide Insight and Intervention in the business development function on client sites. You will be working alongside clients developing their knowledge and capability as you support them in developing their offering to customers, whilst ensuring alignment to the company strategy to ultimately achieve their growth ambitions.
Your ability to coach individuals and teams in the development of effective processes, policy development, governance, problem solving and compliance through visual management will be key.

Based from home with travel across the UK to support your portfolio of clients, the role will involve;

Determine current effectiveness of Business Development strategy, processes, governance & execution.
Establish current market positions by Product Market Groupings (PMG's), identify opportunities based on gathering market intelligence / benchmarking and align to internal Product Groups (PG's)
Develop roadmaps aligning potential commercial opportunities to future market trends and technology
Develop Bid/No Bid assessment and contract review processes including integration into the Product Introduction cycle
Develop and implement Campaign and Negotiation plans by target customers and train clients to deliver effective pitches
Develop a "Business Development" visualisation room and governance structure to track progress including Orderbook value and horizon by PMG's and PG's, Sales pipeline / hopper, RFQ opportunities, Conversion rates including Won & Lost reasons
Link Business Development to other critical aspects of the organisation including business plan development and Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP)

The role of the Business Development Coach will be to work with the client teams to identify and develop the commercial road map for the business alongside the other experts from the other streams and so a mix of the following skills and experience will be ideal;

The successful individual will enjoy working in an autonomous environment where you'll be empowered to make the recommendations and offer support/development to the clients with which you are working.
You will enjoy working with people and take great satisfaction from watching them flourish as a result of your coaching and mentoring. You should be comfortable managing ambiguity, flexible in your approach and enjoy working in a role that offers a variety of challenges and be self-driven to achieve the results all parties desire. Relationship building, both internally and externally, will determine the overall success of the engagement.

The role will involve travel within the UK and also nights away on occasion so flexibility around this is a must.
