The Machining bench hand role is a key role within the machining business. The bench hand has a direct influence on the quality of components received from the machine operators Scope and Responsibilities · The bench hand is primarily responsible for deburring machined component from the CNC machines · The bench hand is also expected to be flexible in terms of helping out in other areas where needed from time to time. · The bench hand is a hands-on role using various types of hand tools such as grinders, sanding discs, sanding wheels and stones. · Must have keen eye for detail. · Good hand-eye coordination. · Able to use initiative and work alone or as part of a team. · Understand the importance of 'Right First Time'. · Be able to read standard operating procedures · Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Word. · Must be flexible with regard to overtime and working in other areas. · Must be prepared to work a variety of shift patterns Experience Ability to use a range of hand tools such as grinders, sanders and drill mounted grinding wheels. Milling, grinding or CNC experience would be beneficial Skills and Qualifications Previous experience of hand deburring tools with good hand to eye co-ordination Safety · Compliance with EHS and legislative standards · Compliance with PPE and all other safety policies and procedures · Promotes safe working practices · Participate in risk assessment and "near miss" risk mitigation activities Quality · Ensuring the service provided is of the highest standard
