Gleeson Recruitment Group are pleased to be recruiting another Marketing role for the West Midlands Growth Company. We are seeking a B2B Marketing Manager to join the company on a FTC until March 2023.

The West Midland Growth Company (WMGC) helps the region make its mark nationally and internationally. Through investor attraction and retention, regional marketing and tourism promotion, the WMGC showcases and supports the best of the West Midlands. The company works with a range of partners and stakeholders - including hundreds of local businesses, the public sector, universities and government.

The role:

The B2B Marketing Managers main purpose is to raise awareness and perception amongst international and national B2B audiences of the West Midlands as a desirable location for invest; leveraging a full mix of communications and marketing channels to promote our proposition and support lead generation.

Through this, the role will support the delivery of our Business and Tourism programme (BATP), which seeks to maximise the region's potential as the hosts of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. This programme will attract visitors, investors and events to the West Midlands and the UK, and grow export opportunities for the region and the UK.

Key requirements:

  • Create and manage marketing campaigns.
  • Convey key differentiators of our sector propositions to national and international B2B investor audiences.
  • Curate content across thought leadership, web and social channels.
  • Develop a coordinated programme of events and webinars across key international markets to support the region's proposition
  • Manage the identification and delivery of film and photography of key assets and opinion formers
  • Identify opportunities for the celebration of the region, its businesses and sector credentials; inform the development of the region's sector narrative.
  • Working with marketing and communications colleagues on programme activities and supporting the development of case studies, media comments and briefings.
  • Ensuring adherence to brand guidelines of all outputs
  • Support BD colleagues on the engagement of key firms and on inward investment lead generation.
  • Working with partner organisations on the co-creation of activations
  • When required, support across the business on broader marketing initiatives

Candidate criteria:

  • Professional qualification, relevant degree, or equivalent experience
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas and issues successfully at all levels to a variety of audiences.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a complex stakeholder network
  • Experienced in B2B marketing- full channel mix campaign development and management
  • Good knowledge of commercial marketing and working closely with BD teams
  • Experience of working in any key sectors: digital & tech; business & professional services; manufacturing; life sciences
  • Awareness of the West Midlands geography, its key industry strengths, key companies and strategic public, private and higher education organisations.
  • Experience of working in / with public sector stakeholders
