Application Engineer (Azure, SQL, Powershell, Cloud based applications)

Location: Solihull but mostly home based (in office 1/2 days per month)

Salary: Up to £55K

Gleeson Recruitment Group are working with a leading organisation based in Solihull. They are looking for an experience Application Engineer to work with them on project work while still supporting the Applications Support team.

The Application Services function provides support across multiple business units, offering application services from project delivery, design & implementation through to operational support. The Team is growing, as we look ahead to deliver several modernisation and growth initiatives offering 'Cloud first' technology, standardise solutions and advocate for applications to help business operations.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with cloud technology, Microsoft applications / Office 365, able to work in a fast agile environment, and able to support a range of operational applications.

Role responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and guidance to internal customers across a range of application technology, and how to get the best use of it
• Support project delivery through config, build and deployment of solutions
• Engage with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities and leverage application services
• Assess applications and identify improvements (Stability, maintenance etc)
• Support and maintain Application Services used in the organisation, as 2nd/3rd line support
• Participate or own aspects of requirements gathering to enable solution set up or deployment, whilst providing technical input in line with SDLC
• Co-ordinate with 3rd parties to implement or maintain application services
• Support and maintain application integrations, data and config across a range of platforms
• Assist with the adaption to SaaS (Front Office Apps & Back Office)

Experience needed:

• Experience of supporting Enterprise Applications (Bespoke or COTs at 2nd & 3rd Line) - 5 years
• Has worked in an Office 365 / Online Environment
• Has supported Projects with technical delivery or has vast experience from Operational Support
• Experience of Data transformation through Database Engine or COTS application
• Used SQL /Operational applications/Configuration of Cloud based Applications/Azure Data Factory
• Programming (Powershell/Python)
• Microsoft Azure (Storage, LogicApps, Automations)
• SQL, DataFactory
• SDLC
