Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a global business based in Crewe, and assisting with their search to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis- salary on offer £25,000.

The Accounts assistant will report to the Management Accountant and on a day-to-day basis and will be responsible for Bank reconciliations, assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts reconciliations. The department within the group is expected to continue to grow through a period of strong growth, both organically, and through acquisition, so it is expected that this role may also evolve.

Accounts Assistant duties:

  • Daily bank reconciliations
  • Submit weekly cashflows to Group
  • Processing purchase invoices (Overheads, Hardware, intercompany)
  • Chasing up missing invoices from suppliers
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Downloading specific network invoices from portals
  • Importing sales invoices into the finance system for the wholesale billing
  • Checking back wholesale invoices to the carrier report from Inform billing
  • Post and allocate go cardless direct debit collection against sales invoices, monitoring for cancelled and returned direct debits
  • Manage customer Line rental discount requests and maintain ongoing summary
  • On a monthly basis allocate all line rental discount payments against individual customer accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of prepayments, accruals, depreciation and post associated journals in xero
  • Update gross margin & Overhead analysis
  • Process improvement, reduction of manual and duplicated processes
  • Other ad hoc duties as requested by the Management accountant
  • Working knowledge of Xero (Beneficial)
  • Working knowledge of salesforce (Beneficial)

Particular skill / aptitude required:

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Good level of competency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with a number of the tasks
  • Ability to work in a pro-active, intuitive and independent manner, but equally able to ask for help when necessary.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met and issues are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail.
  • Driven to succeed in all aspects of work.
